Job Screening
You should come to the workshop prepared to learn more about the transportation industry and the services available to you at the Workforce1 NYC Transportation Center. You will meet with Account Managers who will refer you to interviews for job opportunities in the transportation industry.
Support from the Workforce1 Career Center
Once you leave the Center, Career Advisors and Account Managers will be available to help you with all the necessary steps towards reaching employment. Transportation Center staff will be contacting you to learn about your new job and to inform you of additional job opportunities and job-readiness workshops at the Center.

To participate in a workshop for Bus Drivers, you will need to bring the following:
  • Your Abstract
  • Your Resume
  • Your CDL License
  • A copy of your High School Diploma or GED

Q: What is a Training...Now What? workshop for Bus Drivers?
The Training...Now What? workshop for Bus Drivers is offered by the Workforce1 NYC Transportation Center. Participating in this workshop will give you the opportunity to learn more about the transportation industry and to be screened for job opportunities in the transportation industry. Possible job opportunities include bus drivers, loaders, and ramp agents.
Q: Who is eligible to attend the workshop for Bus Drivers?
Customers who have received ITGs for Bus Driver training should attend this workshop.
Q: How do I sign up for the workshop for Bus Drivers?
If you receive an ITG to become a Bus Driver, you will sign up for the workshop when you pick up your voucher. If you have already picked up your voucher or completed your training and did not sign up for the workshop, contact the Workforce1 Career Center that gave you your voucher to register for the workshop.
Q: Where will my workshop be held?
Your workshop will be held at a Transportation Center location in Queens or Manhattan. You can find the date, time and specific location on the appointment card you received when you signed up for the workshop.
Q: What will I do in the workshop?
In the workshop, you will receive a brief overview of the transportation industry, and learn about services available to you at the Transportation Center. You will meet with Account Managers to learn about available job opportunities in the transportation industry.
Q: What will I need to bring with me to the workshop for Bus Drivers?
All customers must bring a copy of their driver’s abstract, license, a copy of their High School diploma or GED, and an electronic copy of their resumes. Customers should email a copy of their resume to their email address. They should also dress professionally because they could be sent for interviews that same day.
Q: I scheduled my appointment for a workshop when I picked up my voucher. Why am I receiving phone calls and/or emails from Workforce1 Career Center staff?
Workforce1 Career Center staff will be contacting you to remind you of your scheduled workshop. If you have a preference for how you wish to be contacted (email, phone), please let your Career Advisor know.
Q: I signed up for a workshop but I do not have a resume. Can the Transportation Center help me?
Before attending a workshop, you must have a resume. You can sign up for a resume workshop at the Workforce1 Career Center where you received your voucher.
Q: What do I do if I miss my scheduled workshop?
If you miss your workshop, you will need to re-schedule. Call the Workforce1 Career Center where you received your voucher to sign up for the next available workshop.
Q: What do I do after the workshop?
After you have attended a workshop, you will be referred to interviews, so it is important that you are prepared to be successful. If you want additional help preparing for your interviews, ask a Career Advisor about the interview preparation workshops available at the center.
