Rene Villa is a Community Partner referral who availed himself
to several Workforce1 services, including the opportunity to upgrade his CDL Class
C license to a Class B license. Awarded an Individual Training Grant (ITG), Mr.
Villa was then able to shop for different CDL courses on the New York City Training
Guide until he found one that would most help him reach his personal and professional
goals.
Once he finished his training and was placed in his first driving job, Mr. Villa
was presented with an additional opportunity - as a Tour Bus driver with NY Airport
Service. Mr. Villa plans to continue in his current position for 6 months in order
to gain the experience he needs to return to WF1CC. Then, he will be eligible to
upgrade his CDL to Class A license, allowing him to drive transfer trucks and realize
another increase in salary.
